I made a W/Mo and got him to lvl 6 before leaving pre. I was wonderig if at lvl 6 it would be ok for me to go over to the continent that comes along with the NF expansion. I was told to wait till lvl 18..but i wanna go over there and get gear and lvl up there

Around lvl 7 is a perfect time to leave pre searing, so lvl 6 is fine.
Now there are basically 2 things you can do, 1 you get higher lvl (18) and go on begin on the big land of NF or, you can stay at 6 , go to the starter island of NF and play around there, I'm not sure but i don't think you can do the quests there with a non native character ( the starer quests that is)Someone will of course say if I'm right or wrong. Have fun |

You can't even get tto the island until you get to Lion's Arch, at which you should be level 15-16. Then you can go to Nightfall, but only a few primaries are available there which you might have a little bit of trouble with since you are only level 16 and inexperienced with the game. If you go there at level 6 there is no way you'll be able to do any of the quests so it'd be very stupid.

At level 6, you are more than ready to leave pre-searing. As for going to nightfall, if this is your first character, then i suggest that you play through the storyline at least until you get to Lion's Arch. It'll give you a better understanding of the game. Also taking runs to places if it is indeed your first char should be avoided too.

Just go Kamadan, grab the heroes that you get on the beginner island then go back to Old Ascalon and continue the game with your heroes so you won't have to deal with the low level henchies in that area. Or you can just level up on the beginner island in NF, whatever floats your boat.
You don't *have* to wait till you get to level 18 to go to NF. Whoever said that is an idiot, you can go there anytime you want. Be it level 2 or level 20. Also, get a ferry to the Consulate Docks so you can get your max armor and just use that until you get to the other areas in the game where you have more choices of armor to buy. |

Here's my suggestion and what I'm doing right now with my little mesmer. I've leveled up as far as I felt like in presear (left at lvl 10 after giving up going for the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title) and went into post searing. I got a run to Lion's Arch and got help to get into Elona so I could grab the heroes and have them level with me way back in Ascalon.
If it's your first character, I suggest you play the game normally and not get a run, then, when you get to Lion's Arch, you can get help into Elona (or do it with henchies if you prefer or can't get help). After getting heroes, I suggest you continue playing through the Prophecies storyline as you are a Tyrian born character and can get a lot of freebie skills that you would've had to buy in Cantha or Elona. You should also work your way to the Crystal Desert and get your first 15 attribute quest, ascend and get your second attribute quest. If you decide to go to Elona without having done these two attribute quests, you would be at a very large disadvantage. If you have Factions, their fed-ex, running around quests offer 3000 XP so they're a good way of leveling up your characters and heroes. Also note that Kaieng Center has lvl 20 henchies that can help protect you and help you out. Have fun playing! |

Then when he get to LA, he still need to do the quest to go to Elona, in which he has to fight some high Lv monsters. At lv6 and with a low lv henches, unless he has guildies to help him, he won't make it. |

Get a runner to LA, then get some guildies to run you through to NF. I wouldn't bother doing any of the quests there as you're immediately given lvl 15 heroes. Go straight back to prophecies and finish it up, then go on to NF. It'll be a cinch.

The two things you should get run ahead for are max armor and heroes. Heroes are particularly important.
Then go back and play your way through the game. |

If you want to play in Nightfall, why not start a new character in that campaign?

I think the point is getting the heroes, and what's with you people and runners...walking builds character!
If I were you I'd just hench it all the way to Lion's Arch - think of learning to control your henchmen as slowly bringing you into having to control your heroes. As someone said earlier, by time you get to Lion's Arch, you should be at level 15ish so the heroes should be right at your level! Just jump back to tyria and continue on from there! -Elessar |
